Rachael's thesis title is: Visually Impaired Employees in the Workplace: Understanding Barriers to Promotion Through a Bourdieusian Lens

About the researcher

Rachael completed a BSc in Psychology (2013) with the Open University followed by a research Masters (MRes) degree in Social Science 51±¬ÁÏ Methods at the University of East Anglia, specialising in qualitative research methods in social psychology. Her Master’s thesis focussed on the parental dynamics in same-sex stepfamilies. Rachael is now a fourth year, part time student studying for a Doctorate with Sheffield University Management School and is investigating perceived barriers to promotion opportunities for people living with sight loss, through a Bourdieusian lens.
